14 oz. box of  Chocolate Graham Crackers
Chocolate Mousse
8 oz. Cream Ceese, room temperature
1/2 cup Sugar
3 tbls Milk
1/2 cup Cocoa
8 oz. Cool Whip®
Chocolate Ganache
11 oz. semi-sweet Chocolate Chips
3/4 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
Chocolate Whipped Cream & Toppings
3/4 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1 1/2 tbls Cocoa
1/4 cup Powdered Sugar
Chocolate Sauce
Mini Chocolate Chips

How to Make a Death by Chocolate Icebox Cake

Bake your own heavenly Death by Chocolate Icebox Cake! Combine graham crackers, chocolate mousse, ganache and whipped cream to create this delicious layered cake. Add chocolate chips and sauce on top for an even sweeter touch. Your guests will love this tasty treat!
  • 1 *Instructions for the Chocolate Mousse*

    The following three steps are for the Chocolate Mousse.

  • 2 Combine & mix

    Combine cream cheese, sugar and milk together in the bowl of a stand mixer. Mix until completely combined.

  • 3 Add cocoa

    Add cocoa and mix until smooth.

  • 4 Fold

    Fold in the Cool Whip®.

  • 5 *Instructions for the Chocolate Ganache*

    The following four steps are for the Chocolate Ganache.

  • 6 Add chocolate chips

    Place chocolate chips in a bowl.

  • 7 Microwave cream

    Microwave the heavy cream until it starts to boil. Remove from microwave and pour over the chocolate chips.

  • 8 Cover bowl

    Cover bowl with saran wrap for 5-7 minutes.

  • 9 Whisk

    Whisk chocolate and cream until smooth.

  • 10 *Instructions for the Chocolate Whipped Cream*

    The following two steps are for the Chocolate Whipped Cream.

  • 11 Mix ingredients

    Add the heavy whipping cream, cocoa and powdered sugar to a large mixer with the whisk attachment.

  • 12 Whip ingredients

    Whip on high speed until stiff peaks form.

  • 13 *Creating the Death by Chocolate Icebox Cake*

    The following seven steps are for completing the Death by Chocolate Icebox Cake.

  • 14 Create graham cracker layer

    Place a single layer of graham crackers in the bottom of a 9x13 pan.

  • 15 Add mousse

    Top graham crackers with half of the mousse mixture and spread evenly.

  • 16 Spread chocolate ganache

    Spread half of the chocolate ganache on top of the mousse mixture and spread evenly.

  • 17 Add graham cracker layer

    Place another layer of graham crackers on top of the chocolate ganahce.

  • 18 Spread remaining mousse

    Spread remaining mousse mixture on top of graham crackers.

  • 19 Pour remaining ganache

    Pour remaining ganache on top of mousse mixture and spread evenly.

  • 20 Add chocolate whipped cream

    Top cake with chocolate whipped cream and spread into an even layer.
