How to Make a Shabby Chic Doily Dream Catcher
Keep nightmares away with this sweet and feminine dream catcher! This lace doily dream catcher is the perfect addition to a little girl's nursery or room, and you can make it in less than an hour.
Position the doily
Release the inside ring from your embroidery hoop and place it underneath the doily. Center the doily over the ring and place the outside hoop over top of the doily.
Secure the doily
As you push the top ring over the bottom one, gently pull the excess doily through the back to keep it stretched and centered as you tighten the top hoop.
Once the doily is secured and the top hoop is tightened, trim the excess doily from around the back of the hoop.
Add ribbon strips
Cut strips of ribbon and pearls to approximately 32". Half-hitch knot the ribbon strips through any one of the doily openings at the bottom of the hoop.
Add pearl strands
For the pearl strands, insert one end of the strand through the bottom doily openings and pull it through until the ends are even. Gently twist the pearl strand together twice just below the embroidery hoop to secure.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the dream catcher is full.
Hot glue assorted canvas flower embellishments to the side of the dream catcher.
