How to Make a Stenciled DIY T-Shirt
Making matching shirts for a family reunion, the local tee-ball team or as a summer camp activity is fun for crafters of all ages. With a stencil and some fabric paint, anyone can make a personalized tee - and you'll have just as much fun making it as you do wearing it at your event!
Wash & dry
Wash and dry t-shirts. Do not use fabric softeners.
Cut cardboard to fit inside of shirt.
Lay out stencils
Lay stencils out on shirt.
Dip dauber in paint
Using your paper plate as a palette, dip the sponge dauber in the paint. Do not overload with paint.
Apply paint onto the shirt in the stencil area. Don't over work the paint, or paint will get under the stencil.
Remove the stencil and clean with water. Let shirt dry completely before wearing.
