Pony Beads
Peace Sign Beads or Buttons

How to Make a Tie Dye Bandana Tote

It's more fun to carry your necesities in a tie dye tote! You can even customize this cotton tote with even more fun accents like bandanas, beads, buttons and decals.
  • 1 Cut handles

    Cut the handle off of a cotton tote.

  • 2 Lay out bandana

    Open the bandana and lay face down on a table.

  • 3 Glue bandana on tote

    Place the tote on the center of the bandana and glue along the top and bottom edges of the tote.

  • 4 Fold and glue bandana

    Fold the top section of the bandana over 2 times and tack in place with glue.

  • 5 Overlap seams & glue

    Overlap the seams on the back of the tote and glue in place.

  • 6 Cut fringe & add beads

    Cut the bandana below the tote into 1/4" strips. Slide pony beads onto every 2 strips from the front to back.

  • 7 Embellish bag

    Embellish the bag with beads and an iron-on patch.

  • 8 Braid & attach handle

    Cut a bandana into 6, 1" wide strips. Separate into 2 sections. Braid the sections and tie one end together. Glue the other end inside the tote to make the handle.
