How to Make a Rustic Windowscape

Decorate your indoor space with this Rustic Windowscape! Paint the chicken wire window frame and then create a lively scene using a wreath, mushrooms and more. Hang it in any spot for the perfect summertime decoration!
  • 1 Paint the frame

    Thin the brown paint with water and brush onto the frame. Thin the gray paint with water, brush onto the frame, then wipe down with a paper towel.

  • 2 Paint the stars

    Paint three stars white and set aside.

  • 3 Add foam and ferns to the frame

    Cut a 2" cube of floral foam and hot glue it onto the bottom left side of the frame. Arrange several ferns into the foam and secure with hot glue. Glue some Spanish moss over the floral foam.

  • 4 Embellish the wreath

    Using the photo as a guide, hot glue the bark onto a 3" section of t he wreath. Hot glue a 3" section next to it with Spanish moss. Cut a piece of the draping sedum and glue it between the bark and the moss.

  • 5 Add mini mushrooms

    Arrange and glue the mini mushrooms onto the bark and moss.

  • 6 Add the stars to the wreath

    Arrange the stars onto the wreath and glue them into place.

  • 7 Add the wreath to the frame

    Tie a section of jute around the top of the wreath, position it onto the window, slide the jute through the chicken wire, bring around and tie it into a bow.

  • 8 Add jute for hanging

    Cut a section of jute and tie it onto the back of the window for hanging.
