How to Make a Fall Leaf DIY Wreath


Find your fall wreath inspiration with this simple straw wreath base! Add some colorful leaves, paint, ribbon and chicken wire to complete an adorable autumn wreath, worthy of your front door.
 
  • 1 Attach leaves to wreath Straw wreath with leaves

    Unwrap the straw wreath form and use hot glue to begin attaching artificial leaves to it. Put a dab of hot glue in the bottom center of the leaf so they still stick up. Add just a few leaves, or put them all over the wreath depending on your tastes.

  • 2 Cut & glue chicken wire Straw wreath with leaves & chicken wire

    Use wire cutters to cut the chicken wire just big enough to fill in the wreath. Use hot glue to secure the chicken wire in place. Be sure to hold the wire secure until the glue dries.

  • 3 Hot glue the owl Hot glue owl

    Hot glue the decorative owl into place on the chicken wire.

  • 4 Tie a bow Tie a bow

    Wrap or tie bows using the metallic ribbon to add accents to the wreath.

  • 5 Paint polka dots Paint polka dots

    Add whimsy to the wreath by painting polka dots directly onto the straw wreath form using the mustard yellow paint.
