How to Make a Faux Succulent Wreath


The season for decorating with wreaths has begun! We have a stunning wreath project perfect for your front door, window or hanging anywhere that needs a little stlye. We are making a faux succulent wreath that will far outlast ones in your garden, but be just as enjoyable!

  • 1 Paint wreath Faux Succulent Wreath

    Start by spray painting the foam wreath to the color of your choice.

  • 2 Add vine Faux Succulent Wreath

    Weave the succulent vine wreath around your foam core. You may require more than one vine wreath depending on the size of the foam you chose. This succulent wreath fills in any empty sections and even serves to hold the battery and smaller succulents in place later on.

  • 3 Add light string Faux Succulent Wreath

    Next wrap your battery powered light string around your wreath. Make sure you select a light string kit that uses the miniature 3v battery pack. It is slim enough to be tucked into one of the vine wreath loops in the back of the wreath. 

  • 4 Add succulents Faux Succulent Wreath

    Begin adding the individual plastic succulents to your wreath. Most of the individual succulents have a stiff wire end, which makes it easy to insert into the foam core. 

  • 5 Cut succulents Faux Succulent Wreath

    In order to place succulents that may be in a bunch, you will first need to tear off each succulents into individual pieces. You will use some wire cutting shears to score around the base of each succulent piece, and strip back the plastic to reveal about 1" of wire.

  • 6 Place succulents Faux Succulent Wreath

    Now you will be able to press each individual succulent into the foam. You can add succulents to only a part of the wreath for a trailing minimal look, or fill up the entire wreath. It is beautiful however you choose to do it!

  • 7 Tip Faux Succulent Wreath

    To hang on a glass door or window, you can use twine tied around the wreath and hang it from an adhesive hook or suction hook.
