How to Make a Terracotta Pot Topiary

Pots aren't just for plants! This creative terracotta pot display is a whimsical table top decoration for spring. Place it outside on a picnic table or add a touch of lush moss to your kitchen counter, either way this lit grapevine ball will cast a soft glow that you'll love.

  • 1 Apply paint

Water down white paint and randomly apply to the pot with a foam brush. If desires, wipe down select areas with a damp rag while still wet.

  • 2 Place floral foam

Cut a section of floral foam to fit inside the pot about 1" below the rim. Leave space on a side of the pot for the battery pack.

  • 3 Arrange moss

Glue moss along the rim of the pot. Place some Spanish moss inside the pot to cover the foam.

  • 4 Secure grapevine ball

Feed the lights up into the ball and slide the battery pack into the pot. Position the ball onto the pot. Cut a section of wire, bend into a U and insert it over a section of the ball and into the foam.
