How to Make a DIY Chalkboard Homework Planner

There's no excuses for being unorganized with this DIY Chalkboard Homework Planner! Make one with your kids before they head back to school, and you can be sure they'll go straight to the head of the class. You can even modify this project for a home office or your desk at work.
  • 1 Paint canvas Paint wooden canvas

    Paint your wood canvas with 2 coats of chalkboard paint. Carry the paint down the edges of the canvas.

  • 2 Wrap edges with tape Wrap edges with tape

    When the paint is dry, wrap the canvas edge with foil tape, taking care to line it up with the front edge.

  • 3 Cure chalkboard Cure chalkboard

    Cure your chalkboard by rubbing the side of a piece of chalk over your chalkboard. Rub the chalk in with a dry cloth, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.

  • 4 Lay out chalkboard Lay out chalkboard

    Lay out your chalkboard planner by creating sections for projects, due dates and notes, or choose your own categories. A chalk pen works best for this.

  • 5 Schedule Fill in your schedule

    Schedule out homework and activities so you never miss another due date.
