30 12" Rulers
Bistro Fine Point Fluorescent Chalk Markers
12" x 12" Core'dinations Chalk Core Sheet
8" x 10" Unfinished Wood Frame
Americana Decor Chalk Paint in Refreshing Light Green
10" Cardboard Circle
Hot Glue
Ribbon or Sawtooth Hanger

How to Make a Sunburst Ruler Sign

There's no better classroom decoration than this adorable Sunburst Ruler Sign. Choose a color that compliments your classroom and make the perfect sign to welcome all of your students.
  • 1 Paint frame Painted wood frame

    Remove the middle insert of the unfinished frame and paint it with Americana Chalk Paint. Let it dry completely.

  • 2 Attach rulers Ruler sunburst

    Using a hot glue gun, attach the rulers to the cardboard circle.

  • 3 Stagger another layer of rulers Ruler sunburst

    Attach a second layer of rulers, directly on top of the first layer. Stagger them to fill in the gaps.

  • 4 Insert paper Chalk paper

    Cut a piece of Chalk Core paper to fit inside of the frame and write the teacher's name on it using a Bistro chalk marker. Insert the paper into the frame.

  • 5 Attach frame Ruler sunburst

    Attach the frame to the center of the sunburst rulers with a generous amount of hot glue.

  • 6 Attach hanger

    To hang, attach a sawtooth hanger or attach a long length of ribbon to the back of the cardboard circle and hang it from a hook.
