How to Make a Varsity Stripe Cornhole Board

Whether you're hosting a backyard barbecue or tailgating with friends, cornhole boards are a necessity! Show your spirit and customize these varsity stripe patterned boards with your favorite team's colors.

  • 1 Prime boards

Use a 4" paint roller to prime boards completely with 2-3 coats of white primer.

  • 2 Create stripes

Measure and mark a line 5" from each edge of the cornhole board. Apply Frog Tape along the markings to create 2 stripes.

  • 3 Paint entire surface gray

Roll the entire surface of the board with satin finish gray latex paint. It is important to apply gray across the entire board, because the red will appear richer when layered on top.

  • 4 Paint red stripe

Roll 4 to 5 coats of red paint down the center of the board. Allow the paint to dry completely between coats.

  • 5 Touch up

Remove Frog Tape and touch up wherever necessary.

  • 6 Spray board

Spray entire board with Crystal Clear Krylon weatherproof spray in Gloss.
