How to Make Ribbon Pinecone Homemade Christmas Ornaments

These unique Christmas ornaments are make a perfect table setting, an adorable accent on a gift and of course a classic decoration for your tree! See how simple it is to fold your favorite colored ribbon into Ribbon Pinecone Homemade Ornaments and get started making yours.
  • 1 Cut 1 1/2" ribbon

    Cut the 1 1/2" ribbon into 3" pieces.

  • 2 Pin ribbon to foam

    Cut a 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" piece of the same ribbon and pin to the small end of the Durafoam. This will become the bottom of the pinecone.

  • 3 Fold ribbon into triangle

    Take a 3" piece of ribbon and fold both corners to the top center to create a triangular shape.

  • 4 Pin on ribbon pieces

    Starting near the bottom, pin the pieces from Step 3 around and up the Durafoam egg. For each piece, use 2 pins to secure with the folded side facing inward.

  • 5 Pin on a ribbon leaf

    Cut a leaf shape from green satin ribbon and pin it to the top of the pinecone.

  • 6 Tie & attach bow

    Use a 3/8" ribbon to tie a bow, and pin it to the top of the pinecone.

  • 7 Attach hanging loop

    Attach a hanging loop on top of the pinecones using the 1/4" ribbon.
