How to Make a Whitewashed Shelf Tree

Make this Whitewashed Shelf Tree project this holiday season and add a little something extra to your home decor! Once the wooden tree is whitewashed, you can display holiday figurines or anything else you choose on the shelves. Add moon lights around the edges to make this project glow wherever you put it on display!

  • 1 Whitewash tree

Thin the white paint with water and whitewash the tree, shelves and base. Let dry.

  • 2 Apply ink

Wearing disposable gloves and protecting your work surface, spritz the trees with solvent and add several drops of ink to the top and bottom of the trees until desired color is achieved. Blot with a paper towel and let dry.

  • 3 Add trees & deer

Arrange the trees and deer onto the shelves and Glue Dot® them into place.

  • 4 Attach moon lights

String the moon lights along the edges of the tree. Use thumbtacks to hold the wire into place. Tape the battery pack to the back of the tree.
