How to Make a Decorative Football Helmet

Make a special Decorative Football Helmet for your gridiron guys and gals to display on their locker, in their room or even bring it to the field to help cheer them on! The possibilities are endless with this fun football craft. Customize each helmet you make for the home team and your star players and keep it as a memento for years to come.
  • 1 Paint the helmet

Paint the helmet shape, making sure you paint along all of the edges. Let dry completely.

  • 2 Trace the helmet shape

Place the tracing paper on top of the helmet and trace the shape using a pencil. Place the tracing paper onto the back side of the Core’dinations paper and use a pen or pencil to trace over these lines. Lift one end of the paper up to make sure the image is transferring onto the paper.

  • 3 Cut out

Cut out the shapes with a sharp X-ACTO knife.

  • 4 Sand the paper

If desired, sand the paper with the Sand It Gadget and wipe down any paper dust with the accompanying Dust Buddy.

  • 5 Mod Podge paper

Mod Podge the paper to the helmet. Allow the helmet to dry completely.

  • 6 Add embellishments

If desired, use numeral stickers or cut out numbers using a Cricut machine to attach to the helmet with Mod Podge or glue. Attach any other desired embellishments.
