How to Make a Fall Leaf DIY Wreath
Find your fall wreath inspiration with this simple straw wreath base! Add some colorful leaves, paint, ribbon and chicken wire to complete an adorable autumn wreath, worthy of your front door.
Attach leaves to wreath
Unwrap the straw wreath form and use hot glue to begin attaching artificial leaves to it. Put a dab of hot glue in the bottom center of the leaf so they still stick up. Add just a few leaves, or put them all over the wreath depending on your tastes.
Cut & glue chicken wire
Use wire cutters to cut the chicken wire just big enough to fill in the wreath. Use hot glue to secure the chicken wire in place. Be sure to hold the wire secure until the glue dries.
Hot glue the owl
Hot glue the decorative owl into place on the chicken wire.
Tie a bow
Wrap or tie bows using the metallic ribbon to add accents to the wreath.
Paint polka dots
Add whimsy to the wreath by painting polka dots directly onto the straw wreath form using the mustard yellow paint.
