How to Make a Gather Plaque

Wall decor is one of our favorites, especially when it has a great quote to go with it! These simple instructions show you how you can make a decorative piece to hang on your wall all fall long.

  • 1 Paint pallet

Water down the burnt umber paint and brush it onto the pallet. Water down some of the black paint and brush it along the edges. Wipe down with a rag.

  • 2 Paint leaves

Paint the leaves green and orange. Let dry, then sand the surface of the leaves.

  • 3 Write quote

Use a pencil to write the quote on the slate. Use a white chalk marker to trace over the pencil lines.

  • 4 Attach slate

Attach the slate to the center of the pallet using Liquid Nails® adhesive. Let it set overnight.

  • 5 Glue leaves

Glue a wood spool to the back of the leaves. Using the photo as reference, glue the leaves just below and above the slate.
