How to Make a Necktie Card

Love making handmade cards? Suprise dad or any other special man in your life with a Necktie Card while improving your papercrafting skills.
  • 1 Fold sheet

Fold the sheet of paper in half.

  • 2 Draw out cut lines

Measure 1" down from the top of the top corners of the card, make a pencil mark.

  • 3 Make a straight edge

Starting at the mark, draw a 1" pencil mark towards the center of the paper from each edge.

  • 4 Cut a slit

With the paper still folded, cut a slit on the line you just drew.

  • 5 Fold front strips

Fold the front strip points in at a slight angle so the points meet as shown. They should resemble a shirt collar.

  • 6 Cut the back of card

Open the sheet of paper. Cut the back half of the card across the top. (Be careful not to cut the front sheet of the card.)

  • 7 Attach tie

Trace the tie template onto another sheet of paper. Attach the tie to the card using glue dots.

  • 8 Glue strips down

Glue dot the front strips down.

  • 9 Glue buttons

Glue buttons on bottom points of collar to look like a real shirt collar.
