How to Make a Halloween Haunted House

With an eerie purple glow, a creepy glow in the dark cat, and lacy spider webs in each window, this spooky Haunted House is a hair raising decoration for your home! Customize it with creepy miniatures like black cats, jack-o-lanterns and spooky spiders, then set it out on your table or mantle.
  • 1 Paint house Paint house

    Paint the paper mache house. We painted the body of the house black and the roof brown, but you can use any colors you like.

  • 2 Cut lace ribbon Cut lace ribbon

    While the house is drying, cut a 2' length of lace ribbon.

  • 3 Paint lace black Paint lace black

    Lightly paint the lace black with a messy, distressed look.

  • 4 Cut lace into pieces Cut painted lace into pieces

    Once dry, cut the lace into 4 pieces.

  • 5 Glue lace inside house Glue lace inside house

    Paint a strip of Mod Podge across the top of the inside of the house. When the glue is still wet, stick the pieces of lace to the Mod Podge.

  • 6 Paint miniature cat Paint miniature cat

    Paint the miniature cat with a coat of glow in the dark Mod Podge.

  • 7 Place lights Place lights

    Place the lights in the house and put on the roof.

  • 8 Place miniatures Place miniatures

    Place the cat and pumpkin in front of the house and display.
