How to Make a Paint Pour Batty Moon

Create a trendy paint pour just in time for Halloween with this bat and moon hoop wreath! Let your plaint flow to create an abstract piece and use glitter to make the bat shine in the moonlight. This project can be a bit messy so be prepared but don't be spooked-once complete you'll have the perfect hanging decoration!
  • 1 Protect & setup work area

Cover your work area with a plastic tablecloth. Cut the jute off of the moon. Prop three disposable cups upside down onto the tablecloth and place the moon hoop onto the cups.

  • 2 Separate & prepare paints

Set up five plastic cups. Add about 1 tablespoon of paint to each and silver glitter to one. Pour about a 1/4 cup of glue into each cup. Mix each thoroughly with a craft stick. Add some water to each and mix to get the consistency of creamer. Set the glitter glue cup aside.

  • 3 Mix paints

Take an empty cup and add paint from each cup and layer the colors in any order you wish.

  • 4 Pour paint over the canvas

Position the cup over the moon and pour paint over the moon and hoop section. Pick up the hoop carefully by the bats and under the moon, angle the hoop and let the paint move over the moon, hoop and other sides. Set it back onto the cups.

  • 5 Add glitter to the moon

Take the glitter glue cup, mix with a craft stick and drizzle the glitter mix over the moon using the craft stick. Let the moon dry completely. This may take several hours or overnight.

  • 6 Prepare the bat

When the moon is completely dry, using the photo as a guide, mask off the area where the bat wing tip overlaps the moon and hoop section above the wingtip, the small bat wing and the bottom of the small bat.

  • 7 Add glitter to the bats

Mod Podge® the bats. Sprinkle them with the chunky iridescent glitter and then the extra fine black glitter. Allow to dry completely. Tap off excess glitter and remove the masking tape.

  • 8 Prepare the hoop for hanging

Cut a black cord and insert it into the moon for hanging.
