How to Make a Springy Blossom

Create an adorable Springy Blosom! Kids and grownups alike can use a clay pot, fill it with shred and then craft a blossom using springtime colored chenille stems. Each blossom is easy to craft and will be a great decoration or gift for Mother's Day!
  • 1 The Daffodil

The following steps are used to create the Daffodil. Each Daffodil requires three yellow chenille stems, half an orange stem and three green stems.

    1. Fold the yellow stems in half, then open them and twist the three together at the center. Spread them out to form a star and then roll each end slightly to the center (like a snail) to form the petals. Arrange the petals evenly.

    2. Cut a green stem in half, coil the end and then glue to the back center of the petals. Hold firmly for a few minutes for the glue to set up.

    3. Wrape the orange stem around your finger-slide off and glue to the center of the flower.

    4. Place floral foam into the pot. Press the stem of the flower into the foam.

    5. Bend the other green stems in half for the leaves and push the ends into the foam.

    6. Cover the foam with paper shred.

  • 2 The Grape Hyacinth

The following steps are used to create the Grape Hyacinth. Each Hyacinth requires two purple chenille stems and three green stems.

    1. Cut two green stems in half.

    2. Cut one purple stem in half.

    3. Wrap a purple stem around a pencil and then slide over a green stem.

    4. Place floral foam into the pot. Press the stem of the flower into the foam.

    5. Bend the other green stems in half for the leaves and push the ends into the foam.

    6. Cover the foam with paper shred.
