How to Make a Butterfly Birdhouse

This project is for the birds - literally! Whether you decide to display your birdhouse outside as a home for your feathered friends, or if you use it as a bright pop of color inside your house, this birdhouse is a whimsical springtime decoration.
  • 1 Paint birdhouse

    Paint the birdhouse using patio paint and let dry completely.

  • 2 Paint embellishments

    Embellish with Scribbles paint and let dry completely.

  • 3 Cut sections of wire

    Cut sections of wire between 1" and 2". String 1 to 2 butterflies onto each section of wire.

  • 4 Create coils

    Wind wire around a dowel rod to create coils.

  • 5 Wrap wire end

    Wrap the wire end around the posts.

  • 6 Coil wire ends

    Coil the other end of the wires with a dowel rod.
