How to Make a Glitzy Mardi Gras Mask
It's not Mardi Gras without a traditional mask in gold, purple and green - and you can make one that's just as glitzy as any mask in a Mardi Gras parade with just a few supplies. So, serve up some paczki and celebrate Fat Tuesday by making our sparkly, Dream Sequins embellished mask!
Apply green sequin stripes
Cut 3 strips of green Dream Sequins tape to fit diagonally across the mask. Peel off the adhesive backing and apply them to the mask. Cut another 3 strips of green Dream Sequins and adhere them across the first 3 strips at the opposite diagonal, creating 3 Xs.
Use purple Dream Sequins tape to outline the outer edge of your mask. Place the edge of the mask in the center of the tape, so the tape splits the front and back of the mask.
Cut along eye openings
Use a craft knife to cut away any green Dream Sequins covering the eye openings of the mask.
Outline eye openings
Use purple Dream Sequins to outline the eye openings of the mask the same way you outlined the outer edge. Be sure to taper the edges of the tape to prevent bunching.
Cut apart beads
Use a craft knife to cut apart the gold Mardi Gras beads.
Hot glue beads
Use hot glue to attach a bead in the center of each of the diamonds created by the green Dream Sequins Xs.
Hot glue feathers
Use hot glue to secure purple feathers to the back of the mask.
Secure with hot glue
Use hot glue to secure the Dream Sequins tape in any places where it may have lifted.
