How to Make a Tulip Filled Umbrella Floral Arrangement
Every one knows April showers bring May flowers, but did you know our paper umbrellas bring tulips? Step into spring and make this simple artificial floral arrangement for your home. Pick your favorite colored umbrella and match colored tulips and ribbon to it.
Wrap handle with duct tape
Open the umbrella up all the way once to loosen the paper folds. Wrap a piece of Duct Tape approxamitely 6" down from the handle to the base to keep it from moving.
Fluff the folds of the umbrella so they are pulled outwards to create a soft look to the front edge of the umbrella.
Tie ribbon around umbrella
Select a ribbon to coordinate with your colored umbrella and tulips. Tie it around the umbrella, securing with hot glue or glue dots. Add a bow if desired.
Add a hanging ribbon
As needed, attach additional ribbon around the handle to hang.
Bundle the tulips
Bundle the tulips into small groupings of 16, 13, 12 and 7 stems. Use small zip ties to secure each bundle.
Fill umbrella with flowers
Hang the umbrella as you would display it. One at a time, add 3 bundles of flowers to the front half of the umbrella. Fill and balance the flowers, shaping some of the flowers to cascade over the front edge.
Add last bundle
Add the last bundle behind the middle bundle to add additional height.
