How to Make a Fruit and Veggie Basket

Summer is here and it's the perfect time to spruce up your garden with this Fruit & Veggie Basket! Decorate the basket and then create carrots, strawberries, radishes and green beans using colorful felt.
  • 1 Add decorative leaf to planter

Position the stencil on the side of the box and use a dauber to apply the paint. Remove the stencil and set aside to dry.

  • 2 Cut out fruits and veggies using templates

Cut out the radish and fruit and veggies patterns, place each on the appropriate felt color and cut them out.

  • 3 Creating the carrots

The following two steps will be used to create the carrots.

         1. Fold the felt in half and sew the tip and side edges together. Turn inside out and stuff with Poly-fil®.
         2. Make a running stitch along the edge and pull the thread taut. Hot glue the green disk onto the top of the carrot. Roll the leaf topper, glue the edges together then glue the bottom to the disk.

  • 4 Creating the green beans

Fold the felt in half lengthwise. Hot glue the end sections together. Place the beads in a row inside the bean. Hot glue along the edge, pinching the felt together.

  • 5 Creating the strawberries

The following three steps will be used to create the strawberries.

         1. Fold the felt in half and sew the side edges together. Turn inside out and stuff with Poly-fil®.
         2. Make a running stitch along the edge and pull the thread taut. Hot glue the green leaf piece to the top of the strawberry.
         3. Using the 3D lacquer, dot one side of the strawberry for the seeds. Let dry then make dots on the other side.

  • 6 Creating the radish

The following two steps will be used to create the radish.

         1. Fold the felt in half and sew the side edges together. Turn inside out and stuff with Poly-fil®.
         2. Make a running stitch along the edge and pull the thread taut. Hot glue the green disk onto the top of the radish. Hot glue the ends of the leaves onto the disc.
