How to Make a Rope Anchor

Get into the swing of decorating for the summer season and create a Rope Anchor! Follow these step by step instructions and advance your crafting skills.
  • 1 Trace & cut anchor

Position the bottom portion of the anchor diagonally onto the navy cardstock and trace it with a pencil. Cut out the shape and set aside.

  • 2 Paint anchor

Paint the anchor with the taupe chalk paint. Let dry and add another coat of paint.

  • 3 Paint wheel

Paint the ship wheel orange and let dry.

  • 4 Glue wheel to anchor

Glue the ship wheel onto the crossbar of the anchor.

  • 5 Add rope

Cut a 4 foot section of rope. Fold the rope, bring the loop end through the anchor, around and make a slipknot. Separate the ends, make a loop near the slipknot with one end, wrap several times and knot. Bring the other end through the anchor opening three times, let it loop down and hot glue the end to the back of the anchor.
