How to Make a Cornucopia Wreath

Adorn your front door with the colors of the season! This DIY Cornucopia Wreath is filled with fall colors, Thanksgiving embellishments and lots of love. Pick up your supplies at your local Pat Catan's.

  • 1 Protect your work area

    Protect your work area with newspaper or a sheet to prevent damage from glue drip and wreath shredding. Let glue gun heat up for approximately 5 minutes.

  • 2 Cut stems of the fall bush oak acorn DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Using wire cutters, carefully cut Fall Bush Oak Acorn leaf stems just above the molded handle. Only cut the 4 main leaf stems as this will allow for easier wreath placement.

  • 3 Cut fall bush sunflower pumpkin stems DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Using wire cutters, carefully cut the Fall Bush Sunflower Pumpkin leaf stems just above the molded handle. Only cut the 6 main leaf stems as this will allow for easier wreath placement.

  • 4 Bend & glue the fall bush DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Slightly bend the Fall Bush, which allows for a natural appearance and fits the shape of the wreath. Using the glue gun, carefully glue one fall bush stem.

  • 5 Glue fall bush to wreath

    Quickly insert the second fall stem end into the wreath base at the left side. Allow stem to cascade down left side beyond the wreath base. Fall picks can be bent and adjusted for natural appearance or personal preference. The 4 fall stems are placed alternating between the top and side of the wreath.

  • 6 Glue a fall bush pick DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Glue 1 fall bush pick and insert the third fall stem end into the wreath base to the left of the original stem. Placement will be approximately 10 o'clock. Ensure leaves cover the origianl stem and leftover glue spots. Leave space open approximately 5-6" on left side of wreath between fall stems. This will be used later to insert the bow.

  • 7 Cut & insert wire DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Using wire cutters, cut 2 seperate pieces of wire 14". Insert 1 cut wire piece into the front bottom (opening end) of the cornucopia approximately 2" apart so loose ends come throug the other side of the basket. Insert 1 cut wire piece into bottom cone portion of cornucopia approximately 2" apart so loose ends come through the other side of basket.

  • 8 Tie cornucopia to wreath DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Tie the wires through the wreath to secure and not around the wreath. Secure by twisting wire ends together. Cut excess wire from wreath.

  • 9 Add fall bush sunflower pumpkin DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Glue burgundy sunflower stem of the Fall Bush Sunflower Pumpkin Bush. Insert sunflower glued end into the wreath at the top original section of the fall leaf stems. Bend stems to give realistic appearance.
    Apply hot glue to the yellow sunflower stem and insert glued end in the wreath approximately 3" to the left of the burgundy sunflower.

  • 10 Glue & insert stems DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Apply hot glue to the stem of the burgundy sunflower stem and insert glued end in the wreath next to cone of cornucopia. Proceed applying hot glue to the stem of the yellow sunflower and insert glued end into the wreath within the cascacading leaves.

  • 11 Cut & insert fern stems DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Cut fern stems at base as in steps 2 and 3. Apply hot glue to the stem of the Boston fern greenery and insert glued end into the wreath within the cascacading leaves to hide the basket wire. Individually apply glue to each stem and insert into wreath placing in the open space at the base of the cornucopia and in between the yellow and burgundy sunflowers at the top of the wreath.

  • 12 Add & insert metal berry leaf bronze DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Apply hot glue to the brown paper surrounding the stem on the Metal Berry Leaf Bronze and insert in the open space at the base of the cornucopia. Glue the second Metal Berry Leaf grouping at the top of the wreath in hte leaves approximately 1 o'clock placement.

  • 13 Add fall pick metallic pumpkin DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Apply hot glue to the brown paper surrounding the stem of the Fall Pick Metallic Pumpkin and insert in the cornucopia's open space and hold for approximately 1 minute to secure. Glue the second Metallic Pumpkin spray stem and insert in the remaining open space of the cornucopia next to the one just glued in. Apply hot glue to the stem of the gold pumpkin from the Fall Bush Sunflower Pumpkin and insert next to the other glued pumpkins.

  • 14 Add brown burlap curl spray & insert DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Cut burlap brown curl spray at the base. Taking the center coil, pull slightly and expand the cirl as pictured below. Apply hot glue to the burlap base and insert throught the wreath.

  • 15 Make & insert a bow DIY Cornucopia Wreath

    Make your own bow using a Bowdabra® or a handmade bow and secure it to the wreath with wires. Tie the wires of the bow around the wreath base itself to secure.
