Wooden Sign
Wooden Chalkboard Snowflake
Wooden Snowflakes
Plastic Snowflakes
Laser Cut Mittens
½" x 5/8" Wooden Spools
1½ Silver Bells
Folk Art® Enamels™: White, Lavender, Calypso Sky, Light Blue
Folk Art® Acrylic Clear Sealer
Silver/White Rattail Cord
Paintbrushes
Hot Glue or E6000® Adhesive
Scissors

How to Make a Snowflake Sign

Let it snow, let it snow! Celebrate this frosty time of the year with your own Snowflake Sign. This beginner's project is a great stepping stone to advance your craft skill while making a fun decoraiton at the same time.
  • 1 Spray wood pieces

    Spray the sign and all of the wooden pieces with clear sealer. Let dry.

  • 2 Paint sign

    Paint the sign medium blue. Set aside to dry.

  • 3 Paint snowflakes

    Paint two of the small snowflakes light blue. Let dry.

  • 4 Sponge paint

    Sponge the white paint onto the light blue snowflakes and the main snowflake. Let dry.

  • 5 Paint other pieces

    Paint the mittens and remaining small snowflakes lavender. Let dry.

  • 6 Glue plastic snowflakes

    Glue a plastic snowflake onto each of the small snowflakes.

  • 7 Glue snowflakes on sign

    Using the photo as a guide, arrange and glue the snowflakes onto the sign. Add a spool to the back of the lavender snowflake to add dimension.

  • 8 Spray sign

    Spray the sign again with clear sealer and let dry completely.

  • 9 Tie mittens & bells

    Tie the mittens and bells onto the stake below the sign using the silver cord.
