Round Wood Plaque
Wood Applique
White Acrylic Paint
Black Acrylic Paint
Paint Brushes
Sanding Block

How to Make a Decorative Curtain Tie Back

It's stylish to let the sunlight in when you secure your curtains with a set of Decorative Curtain Tie Backs! Choose a knob and aplique to match your favorite set of curtains and craft these simple tie backs.
  • 1 Paint plaque & applique

    Paint the wood plaque and the wood applique white. Let dry.

  • 2 Hot glue applique

    Hot glue the applique to the plaque.

  • 3 Sand & brush with black paint

    Sand edges of plaque and dry brush with black paint.

  • 4 Drill hole

    Drill a hole through the center of the applique and plaque.

  • 5 Screw hardware

    Screw hardware into the hole. You may need extra nuts depending on the thickness of the curtains.

  • 6 Trim hardware stems

    If needed, use bolt cutters to trim the hardware stems.
