  • 1 Remove hinges

    Remove clasp hinges from compartments.

  • 2 Drill holes

Mark the center of each lid and drill a hole 3/16".

  • 3 Sand surface

Sand the entire surface of the box. Wipe down to remove grit.

  • 4 Paint

    Paint and let dry.

  • 5 Adhere washi tape

Run a strip of washi tape along the bottom edge of the box and press firmly in place.

  • 6 Paint stencil

Center stencil on the front of the box, using painter's tape to hold it in place. Apply a small amount of paint onto the stencil using a sponge dabber. Let dry and lift off stencil.

  • 7 Sand & ink

Lightly sand the surface. Ink edges.

  • 8 Screw hardware & trim

Screw hardware onto the lids. Use bolt cutters to cut off excess screw.

  • 9 Write names

Hand write, stencil or label the names of teas on the lid fronts.
