How to Make a Faceted Teardrop Necklace

Practice your jewelry making skills, and craft a statement necklace that you'll love when you make our Faceted Teardrop Necklace! These cool blue faceted beads are the perfect accent for your favorite outfit, plus you'll be able to tell friends and family that you made it yourself.
  • 1 Cut 2 lengths of chain

    Cut a 14 1/2" length of chain and a 3 1/2" length of chain.

  • 2 Attach chains

Attach each end of the 14 1/2" chain to both sides of the toggle clasp with jump rings. Attach the 3 1/2" chain to the center of the 14 1/2" chain with a jump ring. If you lay the chain out, you will have created a necklace with a 3 1/2" tail hanging down in the middle. Working on a bust form will make it easier to work with.

  • 3 Attach teardrops

For the necklace base start 4 3/4" away from one of the clasps on the chain necklace base, attach the jump ring on a mint teardrop to the chain. Continue attaching teardrops every 3/4" or every 4 links in this order: blue, aqua, mint, blue (attached to the center joint), mint, aqua, blue and mint. The last teardrop will be 4 3/4" away from the other clasp on the necklace chain.

  • 4 Attach teardrops to tail

For the necklace tail attach teardrops in a pattern or random order every few links down the 3 1/2" tail. Alternate the side of the chain to which you attach the teardrops as you work. Attach a teardrop to the last link of the chain.
