How to make a DIY Knight Costume

Gather ye knights of the round table to make this DIY Knight Costume. In a few simple steps, your child will become a brave knight, ready to protect his whole kingdom! This costume is perfect for an afternoon of playing pretend or even for a Halloween costume!
  • 1 Fold & cut felt

Fold felt in half and cut it to 12" wide x 36" long (adjust as need to fit).

  • 2 Cut a slit

Cut a slit along the fold about 10" long, leaving at least 1" from the ends intact.

  • 3 Fold & cut felt again

Fold felt in half lengthwise and cut a slit about 3" along the fold. Adjust as needed to allow the tunic to slide over the child's head.

  • 4 Trace crest

Trace crest onto a felt sheet and cut out. Glue onto the center of the tunic.

  • 5 Attach initials

Peel and stick child's initials onto the crest.

  • 6 Place visors together

Remove the coils from the visors. Place visors together with one facing up and one facing down and overlap the holes. Insert coil ends into both visors.

  • 7 Secure visors

Secure visors on inside edges with sections of duck tape.

  • 8 Cut & glue ribbon

Cut 4, 3" sections of black ribbon and glue in rows onto bottom visor.
