How to Make DIY Paper Mache Robots

Rock out with these DIY Paper Mache Robots! If you're looking for an easy and fun project to keep your kids busy for an afternoon, try this! After they make their robots they can put on a stellar show for you!

  • 1 Pick robot body shape

Lay out all of the boxes on a table to decide on a basic robot body shape. Use two small boxes with lids for feet.

  • 2 Punch and paint

To create semi-movable joints, punch small holes where the legs meet the body, where the body meets the head and along the sides of the body for arms. Then paint all pieces separately and let dry.

  • 3 Add limbs

Insert chenille stem through mesh tubing and bend end to create a hand. Secure with glue if necessary. Push other ends of chenille stems through each arm hole and twist together to secure.

  • 4 Secure feet

Fill feet boxes with small stones and glue boxes closed. This will provide enough weight to make your robot stand upright. Glue legs to feet and allow to dry.

  • 5 Insert brads to secure

Insert brads through the body and into the legs. Bend brads apart to secure. Insert brad through head or neck and into body. Bend to secure.

  • 6 Embellish

Cut shapes of Foamie sheets to create a body and a face and embellish and desired.
