What You'll Need:

Paper Mache Pot
Fat Quarter of Choice
Felties® Flowers
Felties Rick Rack Trim
Foamie® Lizard
Acrylic Paint: Lime Green and Yellow
Polyfill
Floral Foam
Jumbo Craft Stick
Natural Paper Shred
Foam Brush
3D Glue Dots®
Scissors
Knife
Quick Dry Tacky Glue

How to Make a Fabric Cactus

Enjoy the best parts of the southwest without the heat! A Fabric Cactus is a colorful and fun accent piece that kids of any age can make. Find all your supplie at Pat Catan's and starting crafting!

Find the cactus template here!
  • 1 Paint pot

    Paint the paper mache pot as desired. 

  • 2 Cut fabric

    Fold the fabric in half and cut out, using the template. 

  • 3 Glue sides

    Glue along the sides and top only. Set aside and let the glue dry. 

  • 4 Add floral foam

    Cut floral foam to fit inside the bottom of the pot. 

  • 5 Embellish pot

    Embellish the pot with some rick rack trim and a Foamie® lizard. 

  • 6 Stuff cactus

    Stuff the cactus with Polyfill. Use the craft stick to push and arrange the batting. Leave the craft stick inside the cactus. Hold the sides of the cactus and push the stick down into the foam. Place some paper shred in the pot to cover the floral foam. 

  • 7 Add flowers

    Glue Dot® several flowers onto the cactus.
