How to Make a Hanging DIY Bird Feeder
Fill your yard with feathered friends that will definitely want to hang around when you make this Hanging DIY Bird Feeder! This project is perfect for the youngest aviary enthusiasts - kids of all ages can use colorful craft sticks to create their feeder, then help hang it and spend the entire summer bird watching!
Lay out sticks
Lay out 7 craft sticks to create a base.
Secure 2 sticks
Glue 2 sticks to opposite ends of the base, securing all sticks together.
Glue sticks along edges
Carefully flip the base over and glue 1 stick along each of the edges that have the rounded stick ends.
Stack & secure sticks
Add dots of glue to all 4 corners and start stacking sticks in a log cabin style, gluing each corner in place. Continue for 6 layers.
Let dry completely.
Knot jute loop
Cut 2, 36" pieces of jute. Fold both pieces in half and overhand knot the loose ends together. Overhand knot the folded end to create a loop.
Place feeder in jute holder.
