How to Make a Hoppity Hopper

Hop to it and create your own Hoppity Hopper Grasshopper! This fuzzy friend is easy to craft with its bright green body and googly eyes.
  • 1 Paint body

Pain the clothespin green. Let dry.

  • 2 Create legs

Cut moss green chenille stems into 9" sections for the back legs, 5.5" sections for the middle legs and 6.5" sections for the front legs.

  • 3 Arrange body

Note: The open end of the clothespin is the grasshopper's tail and the opposite end is the grasshopper's head.

  • 4 Add legs to body

Glue each chenille stem leg onto the clothespin in the correct location along the center of the pin and right at the center of each stem. Let the glue dry, then bend and shape each of the six legs to look like a grasshopper. Use photo for reference.

  • 5 Create antennae

Cut a Kelly green chenille stem in half. Bend and shape each into the antennae. Glue on head.

  • 6 Add eyes

    Glue on the googly eyes.
