How to Jack O' Lanterns
Sit down with your little one and make this easy Halloween-inspired craft! These Jack O' Lanterns are simple to craft; all you need to make them come to life are chenille stems, google eyes and cardstock. Since they take no time at all to make, you can create an entire patch of spooky or smiley pumpkins to put on display!
Cut the orange cardstock to 5 1/2''x 6''.
Fold the cardstock in half to the 5 1/2'' edge.
Cut slits starting at the folded edge going to about 1/2'' from the unfolded edge. Cut the slits 1/2'' apart.
Unfold it and apply glue to both of the 6'' edges; attach the edges to the rims of the craft tube, working around the tube.
Cut Nose & Mouth
Cut out a mouth and nose shape from the black cardstock.
Attach eyes, nose and mouth to the lanterns.
Add Chenille Stems
Punch two holes opposite each other on the top of the lantern and thread the chenille stems through the holes. Pull the ends about 2 inches past the hole and curl around a pencil to form curlicues.
