How to Make Cactus Art

Add a touch of Southwestern feel to your space with a Cactus Art piece. Use your best paper crafting skills and within an hour, you will have your own home decor piece to hang anywhere!
  • 1 Remove rope

Remove the rope hanger from the pallet and set aside.

  • 2 Paint pallet

Paint the pallet with watered down brown paint. Let dry.

  • 3 Draw cactus shape

On the cardstock, draw a cactus shape, marking the lines where each color will go. Use the photo as a guide. Cut it out to use as your template.

  • 4 Trace & cut template

Place the template on the back of each of the vinly sheets, trace it, marking the cut lines for each color. Cut them out.

  • 5 Turn pallet

Turn the pallet so the slats run horizontally. Make sure the pallet is completely dry.

  • 6 Add vinyl shapes

Position the vinyl shapes onto the pallet. Peel backing from the shapes and press into place. Use a heat gun over the shapes and press them down firmly. (The texture of the wood will show through the vinyl shapes)

  • 7 Hot glue rope

Hot glue the rope ends onto the back top portion of the pallet.
