How to Make a Gears Gift Tag
Our gears started turning as soon as we saw this plain wooden tag! This trendy, distressed Gears Gift Tag is full of steampunk style and makes the perfect finishing touch on wrapped present.
Remove the jute cord and set aside.
Cut the gold metallic paper to fit tag.
Corrugate & hole punch paper
Run the paper through the corrugator. Position the paper on the tag and mark the hole at the top of the tag. Remove paper and punch hole.
Glue paper on tag
Glue paper onto wood tag. Sand along the surface and edges, then ink.
Die cut gears
Die cut two sets of each gear using all three metallic papers.
Emboss, sand & ink gears
Arrange several of the gears into an embossing folder and run it through the embossing machine. Sand and ink the gears.
Position & glue gears
Position the gears onto the tag, overlapping them and adding foam dots randomly to the back to create dimension. Glue the gears in place.
Restring the jute cord onto the tag and knot the ends.
