How to Make a Burlap N' Lace Card Box

This Burlap N' Lace Card Box is a must for any garden glam wedding! You'll be surprised at how simple it is to dress up plain paper mache boxes with lace and burlap. Don't forget to match the floral accent to your wedding colors!
  • 1 Stain & glue

Glue balls to the lid and stain with antiquing medium. This will be the bottom of your box.

  • 2 Stack boxes

Stack all 3 boxes on top of each other, positioning them to create a flat back on a side. Trace around the top 2 boxes with a pencil.

  • 3 Cut out square

On the largest box, mark another square, approximately 1/2" inside the square marked and cut it out using an XACTO.

  • 4 Cut card slot

On the middle box, cut a slot approximately 1" x 7" for the card slot.

  • 5 Cover with material

Cover all 3 boxes with the burlap n' lace material. Adhere it to the box using the Xyron.

  • 6 Wrap with ribbon

Pinch an end of the ribbon and glue it to the front of the middle box, wrap around the box, cut, pinch and glue the ribbon. Cover the pinched ends by gluing a floral accent over them, to the front of the box.

  • 7 Glue

    Glue boxes together.

  • 8 Set in lid

Set the largest box back in its lid.
