How to Make a Calliope Super Scarf

Measurement:  10 x 112 (25.5 x 284.5 cm)

Gauge: 2 pattern reps = about 4 3/4 in. (12 cm)
  • Note: One pattern rep consists of 1 ch-5 sp or ch-7 sp and the following sc.

    ch = chain
    ch-sp(s) = chain space(s) previously made
    dc = double crochet
    rep(s) = repeat(s)
    sc = single crochet
    sk = skip
    st(s) = stitch(es)

  • 2 Notes

    1.    Scarf is worked in one piece, back and forth in rows. 
    2.    The yarn color is changed following a Stripe Sequence.
    3.    To change yarn color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all        loops on hook to complete st. Proceed with new color. Fasten off old color.
    4.    When instructions tell you to work in a chain space "2 rows below" this means the chain space is in the row          numbered 2 less that the current row. For example, if you are working Row 5, a chain space "2 rows below"          is in Row 5 – 2 = Row 3.

    With A, sc in 2nd ch from hook, *ch 5, sk next 5 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across – you will have 5 sc and 4 ch-5 sps (4 pattern reps) in this row.

    With A, ch 1, turn, sc in first st, *ch 5, sk next ch-5 sp, sc in next sc; rep from * to end of row.

    With A, ch 1, turn, sc in first st, *ch 7, sk next ch-5 sp, sc in next sc; rep from * to end of row – 5 sc and 4 ch-7 sps.
