How to Make a Multi-Textured Cowl


Let your creativity go wild as you choose from Mixology Solids, Prints and textural Swirl, all in artisan color combinations. This easy-knit cowl uses 4 balls in shades of pink and coral, but would be equally as smashing in an of the other Mixology color ranges. The finished cowl measures 9" wide by 30" circumference, perfect to keep you cozy in a chill.
 
  • 1 Special Stitches

    K2TOG: Knit 2 sts together
    YO: Yarn over needle

  • 2 Stitch Pattern

    Rows 1 and 3 (Right Side): Knit
    Rows 2 and 4 (Wrong Side): Purl
    Rows 5 and 9 (Right Side): Purl
    Rows 6 and 8  (Wrong Side): Knit
    Row 7 (Right Side): *YO, k2tog; repeat from * to end of row
    Row 10 (Wrong Side): Purl
    Repeat Rows 1-10 for Stitch Pattern. Knit the first and last stitch on every row and work center 14 sts in Stitch Pattern.

  • 3 Cowl

    With A, cast on 16 sts

  • 4 First Row (Wrong Side)

    K1, P14, K1. Begin working Row 1 (Right Side) of Stitch Pattern, keeping the first and last st in knit and center 14 sts in Stitch Pattern. Continue until 1 repeat (Rows 1-10) have been completed. Cut A.

  • 5 Next rows

    Change to B and work Rows 1-10 of Stitch Pattern. Cut B.

  • 6 Next rows

    Change to C and work Rows 1-10 of Stitch Pattern. Cut C.

  • 7 Next rows

    Change to D and work Rows 1-10 of Stitch Pattern. Cut D.

  • 8 Repeat

    Repeat rows 1-10 in A-D one more time.

  • 9 Bind off

    There will be 2 repeats of each color A, B, C, D, A, B, C, D - 8 stripes total. Bind off all sts knitwise on Row 10 of the second stripe of D.

  • 10 Finishing

    With yarn needle, sew cast on row to bind off row, forming a cirlce. Weave in all ends.
