How to Make Brownie Christmas Trees

Be a hit at your holiday party with Brownie Christmas Trees! Bake the tasty brownies and turn them into festive Christmas trees with icing and m&m's®.
  • 1 Pre-heat the oven

    Pre-heat the oven to 350° F.

  • 2 Prepare the pan

Line a 9-inch square pan with foil so the foil extends about 2 inches over the side of the pan. Grease only the bottom of the foil with cooking spray.

  • 3 Make the brownie mix

Make the brownie mix as directed on the box in the 9 inch square pan. Cool completely for about 1.5 hours.

  • 4 Remove the brownies

Remove the brownies from the pan by lifting the foil. Peel the foil away.

  • 5 Cut the brownies

Cut the brownies into three rows. Cut each row into five triangles.

  • 6 Make & prepare the icing

    1. Cream the butter and the vanilla.
    2. Add powdered sugar and milk gradually until you reach the desired consistency.
    3. Stir food coloring into the icing.
    4. Spoon the frosting into a small resealable food-storage plastic bag.
    5. Cut off a tiny bottom corner of the bag.

  • 7 Decorate the brownies

Squeeze the bag to pipe the frosting over the brownies. Sprinkle the brownies with the red m&m's®.

  • 8 Add the candy canes

Break off the curved end of the candy cane. Insert the straight piece into the bottoms of the brownies to make tree trunks.
