Paint ends of box
Using a sponge brush, paint the ends of the planter box with red acrylic paint. You will need at least 2 coats to get an even coverage.

Paint inside of box
Once the ends of the box are are dry, paint the inside of the box with 2 coats of paint.

Glue on ruler
After the paint is fully dry, align the edge of a wooden ruler with the bottom edge of the box. Attach the ruler to the box with hot glue.

Continue gluing rulers
Glue 2 more wooden rulers horizontally onto the sides of the planter box. Repeat on the other side of the box. You will need 3 rulers per side.

Apply chalkboard sticker
Using a chalk marker, write a school phrase on the chalkboard sticker. Place the chalkboard sticker onto the side of the planter box, centering it on the rulers.

Fill caddy
Place 3 mason jars into the box and fill with items such as pencils, crayons, markers and scissors.
