How to Make a Holiday Flip Card

Everyone will be filled with holiday cheer when flipping through this adorable holiday flip card! Completely customize your design with a special repurposed card, your favorite patterned paper and bright holiday ribbons. Then, send it to friends and family to spread a little bit of Christmas cheer.
  • 1 Score cardstock

Take a piece of cardstock that measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" and line it up on the scoring board. Score the paper at 2 3/4" and 3 3/4". Fold it in a zigzag pattern.

  • 2 Attach patterned paper

Open the card and lay it flat. Measure, cut and attach the patterned paper to the front of the card to either side of the fold.

  • 3 Secure the die

Keep the card open and laid flat. Place the 2nd largest square face down on the smaller side of the card. Line the center points of the die on the 2 3/4" fold. Hold the die in place with washi tape.

  • 4 Run through embossing machine

Stack the Cuttlebug B plate on top of the A plate. Place the card on the plates. Arrange the other B plate to cover the die up to the 2 3/4" fold line and run it through the machine. Repeat the steps on the other side of the card to the 3 3/4" fold line. Make sure to take care placing the plates only to the fold lines, otherwise the whole piece will be cut out.

  • 5 Peel the paper

Once both sides have been cut, peel the patterned papers from the die cut ends. Don't worry if this damages the paper, it will be covered up.

  • 6 Die cut squares

Take the same square die and die cut 2 squares from the cardstock - 1 white and 1 red.

  • 7 Attach the white square

Attach the white one to the front side of the card. When you flip the card this will go to the back.

  • 8 Attach the red square

Turn the card face down and attach the red on the backside. Once the die cuts are attached, flip the card over. The red square should be on the front of the card and the white on the inside.

  • 9 Attach card die cuts

Take the next smallest square die and position it on a Christmas card cover. Run it through the Cuttlebug or embossing machine. You can repeat with the card sentiment inside. Attach die cuts onto the squares of the card.

  • 10 Attach a bow

Cut ribbon and attach it to the inside of the card with a tape runner. Make a small bow and attach it to the bottom center of the front square.

  • 11 Cut & attach snowflakes

If desired, use the small snowflake die and cut several snowflakes from the white cardstock. Attach to the front of the card.

  • 12 Add glitter

Embellish the smaller square die cut with stickles glitter. Let dry.
