How to Make a Mesh Reindeer

Improve your mesh-working skills while you make this fun and festive decoration to hang on your door. You can even personalize your reindeer with a unique bow or a red nose - it's all up to you! Either way, this Mesh Reindeer is sure to stand out!

  • 1 Attach mesh

Use the end of the mesh and attach to the inner wire on the triangle form using a chenille stem.

  • 2 Work mesh around form

Measure out approximately 12'' of mesh. Gather mesh and attach to the outer wire on the triangle form. Continue this in a zig zag pattern around the triangle form.

  • 3 Fluff mesh

Fluff the mesh to fill in the triangle.

  • 4 Make nose

Cut a 5'' black circle out of stiff felt and hot glue to a chenille stem. Bend the stem in half. Glue onto the bent portion of the stem to the center of the circle.

  • 5 Glue chenille stems

Hot glue chenille stems to the back of the wiggle eyes. Bend the stems in half. Glue only the bent portion of the stem to the back center of the eye.

  • 6 Cut ears

Cut two ears from brown felt using the photo as a guide.

  • 7 Cut antlers

Cut antlers from brown stiff felt, using the photo as a guide. Hot glue two sheets of felt together for each antler.

  • 8 Attach eyes, nose and antlers

Work the eyes, nose and antlers into the mesh. Attach using chenille stems.

  • 9 Glue ears and holly

Hot glue the ears and holly pick into place underneath the antlers. Allow hot glue to cool for a few seconds before attaching to mesh.
