How to Make an Easter Egg Lantern Terrarium

Bring spring greens right into your home with an Easter Egg Lantern Terrarium. Customize the terrarium with an assortment of outdoorsy accents like a bird's neck, a few blooms, moss and foliage. Don't forget to pick your favorite colors of paint for the wooden eggs!
  • 1 Wrap with rubber band

    Start by decorating the wooden Easter eggs. Wrap a rubber band snugly around the middle of the wooden Easter egg. Try nudging the rubber band to create dips or to shape the painted area.

  • 2 Paint egg Gold painted wooden egg

    Thinly paint the wooden egg from the rubber band down to the bottom of the egg. Let dry completely.

  • 3 Re-wrap & paint Wooden painted egg

    Re-wrap the rubber band lower on the painted wooden egg and paint on a second color, just like before.

  • 4 Decorate lantern Lantern with moss, foliage and nest

    While the wooden eggs dry, decorate your lantern by adding moss, a mini nest and any desired foliage and florals.

  • 5 Place eggs Wooden painted egg, nest, foliage in lantern

    When dry, place wooden eggs inside the foliage landscape.
