How to Make a Leaf Window Frame

Show off your favorite fall memories with this distressed Leaf Window Frame. These detailed instructions will show you how to take an ordinary picture frame to the next level with the help of embellishments, paints and a few other crafting tools.
  • 1 Remove plexiglass

Remove the plexiglass from the frame and set aside.

  • 2 Paint the frame

Paint the frame burnt umber and let dry.

  • 3 Paint the leaves

Paint the leaves orange, green and inheritance. Sand the leaves and ink the edges with Rusty Hinge and Gathered Twigs colored ink pads.

  • 4 Create distressed frames

Randomly apply areas of the frame with Vaseline®. Paint the frame white. Let dry and then wipe frame with a rag to remove Vaseline®, which will create a distressed look.

  • 5 Glue leaves

Referring to the photo, arrange and glue the leaves in place.

  • 6 Add cardstock

Trim two pieces of cardstock to fit inside the frame, overlapping the edges.

  • 7 Attach photos

Arrange the photos into each window and attach them to the cardstock.

  • 8 Assemble frames

Assemble the plexiglass and photos in the frame.
