How to Make a Ghost Shadowbox

Crafters beware! Decorate a spooky shadowbox scene complete with ghosts, spiders and more. Light up the shadowbox at night to create an eerie Halloween feeling!
  • 1 Stain the shadowbox

Thin the black paint with water and stain the shadowbox. Let it dry.

  • 2 Paint the wooden ghost

Remove the ghost from the wooden hanger. Paint the ghost white and let it dry.

  • 3 Dry brush the beware sign

Lightly dry brush the beware sign with white paint.

  • 4 Cut & attach the ghost fabric

Cut the fabric to fit inside the shadowbox and glue the edges into place.

  • 5 Attach the beware sign

Glue the sign across the top of the shadowbox.

  • 6 Create the ghost's face

Cut a black circle eye and a mouth from the cardstock and glue onto the ghost. Draw a spiral eye next to the circle. Glue wiggle eyes onto the circle and spiral.

  • 7 Dry brush & attach the ghost

Dry brush the edges of the ghost with black paint. Using the photo as a guide, position and glue the ghost to the frame.

  • 8 Attach the moonlights

Arrange the moonlights inside the shadowbox and tape the battery pack to the back of the beware sign.

  • 9 Attach webbing & spiders

Spread out some webbing along the bottom, the top and the side of the frame. Glue several spiders to the sign and the ghost.
