How to Make a Halloween Countdown

Counting down the days to the holiday has never been more festive! A Halloween Countdown is a simple craft for basic crafters and makes a great addition to the rest of your Halloween decor.
  • 1 Paint box

Remove all of the compartments from the box. Paint the box black and let dry.

  • 2 Paint wooden spools

Remove the jute from the bat and cover the holes with a Glue Dot®, paint it black. Paint three of the wooden spools black and let dry.

  • 3 Paint and add glitter

Paint the pumpkin orange and trick or treat sign green. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle glitter over each piece. Set aside to dry.

  • 4 Cut squares

Cut twenty-five 2" squares from the purple cardstock using a Cricut™ machine.

  • 5 Cut scalloped edge squares

Cut twenty-five 1.5" scalloped edge squares from the glitter cardstocks using a Cricut™ machine.

  • 6 Glue squares

Ink the edges of the 2" squares, glue a scalloped square onto each 2" square. Punch a ¾ half circle at the top center of each square. Glue the squares onto each compartment.

  • 7 Glue embellishments to boxes

Replace the compartments into the box and referring to the photo, glue the numbers and Foamies® stickers onto each one.

  • 8 Attach signs to box

Glue the bat behind the box just below the top right corner. Glue two spools onto the back of the trick or treat sign and attach it to the bat.

  • 9 Glue spool

Glue the side of a spool to the pumpkin and glue it onto the box.
