How to Make a Zombie Pillow Cover
Decorate for Halloween with your own Zombie Pillow Cover! Sew and create the zombies face out of felt to create this not so spooky cover.
-
1
Note:
This pillow cover is being pinned and sewn inside out.
-
2
Lay the fabric & pin
Lay the 18" x 48" fabric flat and at both 18" ends. Pin a 4 1/2" hem.
-
3
Rearrange the fabric
After pinning the hems, flip the fabric over so the pins are now facing down.
-
4
Create a pocket
Next, fold one of the pinned hem ends up and over 9" to the right towards the center of the 48" length. Lay this end section folded over and right on top, making a pocket.
-
5
Fold the other hemmed end
Take the other hemmed end and fold it up and over 13" to the left towards the center. This section should overlap the pinned hem edge of the 9" pocket made in step #4.
-
6
Note:
Use a tape measure to make sure that you have a 17" x 18" folded fabric pillow cover. The hem pins can be left in place until after you have completed sewing.
-
7
Attach additional pins
next, use three to four additional pins running in straight rows about 1" in from each of the two open outside edges of the pillow cover.
-
8
Sew the pillow cover
Sew both of the pinned edges closed with straight stitch lines running them parallel with the open edges, 1/2" in from the open outside edges. This will make a 17" x 17" square pillow cover that has a 1/2" seam allowance on both of the sewn closed edges. Use scissors to trim the extra thread at each end. Remove the pins and turn the pillow cover right side out.
-
9
Create the zombie's face
Trace and cut the template from the felt. Arrange it onto the pillow cover and sew or glue it in place.
-
10
Stuff the pillow
Stuff the cover with a 16" pillow.
